Redirect Checker FAQ
Common questions about this tool and what the results mean.
Ask us about your resultsWhat is the difference between 301 and 302?
A 301 tells search engines a page has moved permanently. A 302 says the move is temporary. Use 301 for permanent changes.
How many redirects are too many?
One redirect is normal. Two or more slow the page and make crawling less efficient, so point the first URL straight to the final one.
Does this tool store my URLs?
No. We fetch the page from our server, show the result and do not store it.
How do I set up redirects?
Use our .htaccess Redirect Generator for Apache and LiteSpeed servers.
